White
Horse Cabin
Idyllwild, California |
|
White Horse Cabin is an awesome, close-by
getaway, perfect for 2-6 people. And if you're lucky enough
to own horses, we can ccommodate them too. Unlike most local
cabins, we offer over a half acre to spread out, set back
nicely from the road for extra privacy, with the grounds including
facilities for up to 6 horses. A classic mountain A-frame
with modern appointments, White Horse Cabin is a short 1 mile
from the center of charming downtown Idyllwild. This quaint
mountain village sits at 5,000 ft elevation between Palm Springs
and Temecula. This exceptional private residence is lovingly
cared for by its owners, giving guests an immediate feeling
of "home" rather than "rental." Enjoy
your quiet mountain retreat amongst towering pines and fragrant
cedars, listening to Strawberry Creek rushing outside your
back door...or visit the village with its shops, restaurants,
theater, and numerous special events and art venues.
|
| The cabin
offers an abundance of windows and four large sliding
doors beckon you to take in the fantastic forest and Strawberry
Creek views. Close the drapes, and the fireplace, with its
huge rock hearth, dominates the view and quickly warms the
cabin. Two large skylights provide a feeling of warm sunshine
and moonlight at night. |

|
Your "back
yard" starts with a huge deck overlooking Strawberry
Creek. Step down off the deck and follow a few short steps
down to a rustic outdoor creek-side seating area - a perfect
place to enjoy an evening glass of wine or just listen to
the rushing water. The home has a great sense of spaciousness
and room to spread out. A very "far away" feeling,
but very close to town - a great combination! |
| Your Stay at White Horse
Cabin includes the following accommodations for your horses:
A large 110' x 70' flat paddock, shaded by large cedar
trees, with soft forest floor footing. Inside the paddock
are two 12 x 16 pipe stalls and one 16 x 30 pipe stall that
adjoins the three-sided barn/shelter; this allows for complete
separation of 4 horses (3 in stalls, one in paddock) with
a maximum of 6 allowed on property; all stalls turn out into
the paddock, which also has two large double gates on either
side to facilitate pull-through of trailers. |

|
|
|
Water and power are available
at stalls/barn. Three sided barn shelter allows for feeding/shelter
out of the weather; three tie-up rails adjacent to paddock
for easy tack-up. Room in barn to store extra feed. Horses
are visible right outside front windows of cabin. |
| Trail access is an easy 1.5 mile trailer ride up to Humber Park and the higher elevations, or if you prefer to ride quiet blacktop streets and lower elevations, you can access the Ernie Maxwell trail in about 1.5 miles. This connects to the entire Idyllwild trail system and into Garner Valley and McCall's Horse Camp. The town of Idyllwild is completely surrounded by National Forest, County, and State Park trails. |
